Traditional Skills – Carnival Mittens

Join us to learn how to knit a pair of Newfie Mittens in carnival colours!  In this 5-week program you will learn how to purl, slip stitches, rib and stockinette stitch, and use a stitch holder.  Program will run on Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 pm, October 30th – November 27th, 2018.

Week One:  cast on stitches, begin rib

Week Two: work rounds of Pattern 1 and Pattern 2

Week Three: slip stitches to stitch holder, continue working pattern rounds

Week Four: decrease top of mitten, draw up and fasten off

Week Five: complete thumb, draw up and fasten off

Skill level:  Basic

Prerequisite: Some basic knitting skills, i.e. casting on, knitting, joining colours
