Sharing information

Teaching traditional skills is one way to preserve our community heritage. We are fortunate to have many people in our community who are willing to share their knowledge with others. Take a look at some of the traditional skills sessions we have held.

From gathering information to sharing knowledge with others, we love to learn and share more about our community heritage whenever we can. Our popular Amazing Heritage Race, Word Puzzles, and Community Events share knowledge in a family-friendly, fun way.

Our Collection

Artifacts tell one part of the story in a community. Our first community display was during Pasadena’s Come Home Year in 2012. Over the course of 10 days, residents, tourists, and visitors coming home all visited our display at the Pasadena Public Library. Folks in the community graciously donated or loaned items from their own homes. Each item had a story. Viewers shared their own stories of using similar items when they were growing up in the town.

Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are known for their storytelling. When we are young we do not often realize the value of the stories Nan and Pop are telling us over and over. At Pasadena Heritage Society – NL we want to hear those stories!
